The Mammoth Site® is going behind-the-scenes and showcasing our employees By: Bethany Cook

The Mammoth Site® is going behind-the-scenes and showcasing our employees. We would like to introduce Sharon McLain, our Elementary Education Coordinator. Sharon has been employed at The Mammoth Site for 27 years. Sharon has her Bachelor of Science in Education from Chadron State College.

Sharon came to The Mammoth Site the summer of 1989 as Interpreter I. In 1990 she became an Interpreter II and in 1992 became the Education Coordinator.

As The Mammoth Site has grown so have the Education Programs that are offered at the Site.

I was able to sit and interview her and ask her some questions about her career at The Mammoth Site and her life outside The Mammoth Site.

What is your favorite part about working at The Mammoth Site?

Response: “I enjoy working with the people. I love teaching the classes and working with the students. The best part is seeing the student’s faces when participating in the classes at the Site. I love what I do and it’s very rewarding to see how the staff changes and grows.”

What hobbies do you have?

Response: “I love spending time with my grandchildren. I also enjoy writing children’s books for my grandkids and maybe someday I will have them published. I enjoy photography and gardening.”
