The Mammoth Site is going behind-the-scenes and showcasing our employees-By: Bethany Cook
The Mammoth Site is going behind-the-scenes and showcasing our employees. Our first employee we would like to showcase is Joe Muller.
Joe Muller has been part of the tourism industry since July 1978 and it was only fitting when he was approached by Eddie Clay in 1985 to become part of The Mammoth Site.
Joe agreed, and on March 1, 1986 he became COO/Business Manager of The Mammoth Site.
This March 1st will mark 30 years at The Mammoth Site. Joe has decided to retire and starting January 19, 2016, The Mammoth Site will have a new Business Manager Presston Gabel. Joe has agreed to stay and help train our new Business Manager until the end of March.
I had the opportunity to sit with Joe and ask him some questions about his career at The Mammoth Site.
What do you enjoy the most about The Mammoth Site?: “The Mammoth Site is unique, the talented staff, and the supportive Board Members.”
What was your greatest achievement at The Mammoth Site?: “The Learning Center, all the changes made in the last year and improvements since 1986.”
What are your plans for retirement?: “To stay in Hot Springs and start to work on my woodworking shop. We also plan to do some traveling and visit our three daughters.”
What will you miss the most about The Mammoth Site?: “Seeing the staff and where their education and passion takes them and seeing how they have progressed.”
When visiting with Joe you can see the passion and dedication he has had for The Mammoth Site the last 30 years. He will be missed by the staff and Board but we know he is only a phone call away.
The Mammoth Site is excited for the future and what our new Business Manager Presston Gabel has in store for the Site. We wish Joe the best on his retirement and we congratulate our new Business Manager.
